Notice you can't change the sample rate it either says automatic or internal. RME; drivers, drivers, drivers. No, John, My panel looks different, and when I talked with Tascam they told me it was a completely re-worked driver and that there was no other, older driver of theirs that would work with it.
Perhaps this is related to the new "HR" functioning which I assume means High Resolution that allows you to set buffer size down to 4 samples! And here's the final clue! I guess in all my troubleshooting I hadn't tried this before, missing the proverbial forest for the trees. If I set the sample rate to Same with Windows Sound settings. Set it to Any setting other than Not gonna do it.
DeeringAmps For sure they've missed something. If I am really the only one to have this issue, given all my troubleshooting on two machines, I would have to start believing in some supernatural causes!
And I'm not gonna do that either. So, yes, it's going back to them! Both of them. No problem there, I just got it. Answer: from support, not just a member Disable input monitoring and the click should be gone. Seems a bit inadequate to me, I've been using the UFX for 9 years, zero issues. In my situation, the popping happens all over the place , input monitoring on or off. In fact turning it on or off is one of the many scenarios that causes it.
And it happens, I say again, even when just browsing the internet! And it all happens whenever any setting other than Tascam "Support" continue to get back to me simply repeating to make sure that the Windows Sound setting for sample rate matches the DAW chosen sample rate.
You can be sure that I have confirmed that many times over. And anything other than We'll see how support responds. Supposedly they do drivers "inhouse" now. It all comes down to drivers. When I first got my Tascam us in the driver was at least much better than the M Audio fast track it replaced but there were many issues for sure I finally got fed up in and bought the Scarlett 6i6.
It had just hit the street and it went through a year of updates before it became solid. About the time I bought the 6i6 Tascam did go in house and released a new driver for mine. It became solid as a rock ever since.
But both are 6 years old and I thought time for an update to the modern world. What a disappointment the Motu was as the only thing better is a few ms of RTL. John Vere I hear ya. I for sure want power supply option. Definitely looking at the 6i6 or just staying with Steinberg and upgrading to a larger one.
I'm just tired of the back-and-forth shipments! That's why I decided now to have at all this now. They stopped making the 6i6. The 4i6 is the closest but lacking the spdif so for me the 8i6 is the best replacement. I can like you just use my old interface because lesson learned is nothing new is guaranteed to be better.
When connected the interface communicates with the "control panel" application it comes with fine. I'm running driver version 2. More Less. Reply I have this question too 8 I have this question too Me too 8 Me too.

User profile for user: Pancenter Pancenter. In Logic make sure the Tascam is selected as the audio interface. Always plugin the interface before booting Logic. Reply Helpful Thread reply - more options Link to this Post. Sorry, I neglected to mention in my original post that I have tried all possible combinations of when I turn it on etc.
If I plug it in before opening Logic then I get the spinning colour wheel thing during the Logic start up as it tries to connect to the interface and again just does that forever until I unplug or turn it off. That seems to have worked. Much appreciated. Got it all hooked up and working how I wanted now. It's strange that it caused the problem before though, not quite sure what happened. All good now though, thanks again for the help. I'll let you know when it gets here and its up and running.
I did have some successful recordings on it the 2 years I owned it -- but man -- what a PITA -- drop outs -- drivers vanishing -- constant buffer adjusting -- I am back on my tascam us until it gets here some time this week I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it It works good it works good it works good It works good it works good it works good One of the things I researched about it - was that it doesnt work so good if you have a Nvidia chip runnig your usb 2.
My usb ports are Nvida chip sets so - I had no choice Downloaded the latest drivers from tascam web site -- 2. Installed easily in like 5 minutes -- although you have to plug and un plug the usb a few times -- just follow the instructions on the screen -- its easy 3. I didnt know channels 9 and 10 quarter inch inputs on the front also have pre amps -- so you have 8 XLR pre amps and 2 quarter inch pre amps - all record very well -- pre amps are good -- not bad at all -- not THE BEST -- but good 8.
The knob that lets you mix your input volume VS the mix volume is great -- especially for the vocalist that wants the music turned down and his vocals turned up -- just awsome so -- the only time i had drop outs was while recording audio at lowest latency -- but recording midi as siad earlier v-drums triggering ezdrummer -- i could do at lowest latency no problem -- the audio from my guitar was recording at "normal" latency and I found nothing that was intorable with that setting -- no noticable delay that would throw you off so -- ive only been at it for 3 hours or so -- but as of right now -- ITS A WINNER!!
Just got back from a family wedding up country. I'm chuffed it's working so well for you. Definitely getting more interested. I'll bite on this one! I've been thinking of getting either this interface or the edirol mdx mixer. Glad to read a positive review here on the forum I've got a firepod currently but I wanted more inputs to record the worship band at my church.
Question: could you use the mic inputs for line inputs? Would you need a pad? Glad to hear the latency is not bad as well. It sounds like the unit is very similar to the firepod as it dosn't have a software mixer, just a balance knob like this unit.
How do you think the pre are compared to the firepod? Thanks, Jt. Thanks, Jt You can only use mics on the mic inputs -- so i guess you would need a pad.
These are on sale now at musicians friend. I'm thinking about ordering one. Does anyone else have any comments to make about it? Waiting on mine from Long and McQuade here in Canada if you have any problems in the next week or so let us know.
I wonder how long it will be before there is support for Windows 7 64 bit? Upgraded firmware to 1. Mixed results. Pros: Recorded 10 audio tracks simultaneously - perfect. Added another track dubbing, recorded fine, with computer audio monitoring too long delay.
